Boldly driving leadership transformation—putting people first, inspiring teams, and building thriving workplaces

Meet Tre Cabrera, MRP, MSW

Tre Cabrera is the Founder and CEO of Cabrera Advisory Group, LLC, a Black woman–owned management consulting firm based in Annapolis, Maryland. She is a culture-building consultant, leadership innovator, and trusted thought partner to senior leaders navigating complexity, transformation, and high-stakes change.

With more than 20 years of experience across nonprofit, public, and philanthropic sectors, Tre brings deep expertise in organizational leadership, systems strategy, educational equity, community practice, and public policy. When clarity, alignment, and momentum matter most, leaders engage Tre to design and lead work that creates breakthrough outcomes.

Her clients don’t bring her in for generic facilitation. They engage her when the cost of misalignment is too high, execution is stalling, or leadership cohesion is essential to move forward.

Tre works closely with executive teams to surface critical truths, align decision-making, and translate insight into action—helping leaders think, decide, and lead at the level their mission demands.

Tre holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Maryland School of Social Work and a Master of Regional Planning (MRP) from the University at Albany, NY, with graduate training in organizational management, community practice, social action, economic development, and community planning. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with Pi Sigma Alpha honors from SUNY Geneseo, New York’s Public Honors College. These disciplines form the foundation of her systems-oriented, people-centered leadership philosophy.

Energetic Belonging™ — Leading Without Shape-Shifting

Energetic Belonging™ is Tre Cabrera’s signature leadership framework and body of work. It builds on contemporary conversations about belonging and extends them by addressing what is often left unnamed: the energy cost of belonging in systems not designed to hold people fully.

Tre’s belief is clear:

Belonging is not sustained by individual bravery alone—it requires energetically honest systems.

When leaders are required to shape-shift, self-protect, or perform in order to belong, culture consumes energy instead of creating it. Over time, this erodes trust, clarity, and leadership sustainability.

Through Energetic Belonging™, Tre works with senior leaders and executive teams to examine how identity, energy, power, and culture intersect—and to redesign leadership practices, norms, and systems so people can lead without spending themselves to belong. This framework anchors her executive coaching, keynote speaking, and high-impact learning experiences.

In 2024 and 2025, Tre spoke at convenings such as the National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity National Summit for Educational Equity, the United States Hispanic Leadership Institute, the Skyrocket Education Services Equity Summit, and GBMC HealthCare’s Equity, Inclusion & Belonging Conference. Her work centers values-based leadership, authentic engagement, and the creation of cultures where people feel seen, valued, and able to contribute fully.

Tre’s speaking and facilitation combine strategic insight with practical application—supporting leaders in moving from reflection to decisive action.
